About Write on the River
We foster the writing arts, sustain a vital North Central Washington writing community and nurture writers from inspiration to publication
Who We Are & What We Do
We connect regional writers with learning opportunities in writing fiction and nonfiction writing as well as publishing. We encourage each other as writers through social gatherings, writing competitions, readings and other events.
Putting words on the page is a solitary endeavor, but it doesn't have to be an isolated one! We connect, share, and learn.
All Writers Welcome
Writers in all genres and of all ages are welcome to give our events a try, and we'd also love to have your support through membership. While a number of our activities are free, members receive discounts on fee-based events and programs.

Our History
Write on the River formed in the Wenatchee Valley in 2005 with a small core of writers and has since become a membership organization of approximately one hundred.
Through the years we've made good friends, held an annual conference (on hiatus at present), surveyed our members to discover their needs, and evolved a full slate of year-round activities to meet them. And we're still going strong!

Volunteering with WOTR is a great way to meet other writers while helping to further our worthy goals. From the Board of Directors to seasonal workshops and our writing competitions, WOTR relies on volunteers to make things happen. To all our volunteers, a hearty thank you!
Have a Workshop?
We conduct occasional workshops throughout the year and accept applications to present at any time.
