About Write on the River

We foster the writing arts, sustain a vital North Central Washington writing community and nurture writers from inspiration to publication

Who We Are & What We Do

We connect regional writers with learning opportunities in fiction and nonfiction writing and publishing. We encourage each other as writers through social gatherings, writing competitions, readings and other events.

Putting words on the page is a solitary endeavor, but it doesn't have to be an isolated one! We connect, share, and learn.

All Ages Welcome

Writers of all ages are welcome to give our events a try, and we'd also love to have your support through membership. Members receive exclusive access to a number of events and  discounting on all other programs.

Black Water
Our History

Write on the River formed in the Wenatchee Valley in 2005 with a small core of writers and has since become a membership organization of approximately one hundred.

Through the years we've made good friends, held an annual conference (on hiatus at present), surveyed our members to discover their needs, and evolved a full slate of year-round activities to meet them. And we're still going strong!

Volunteering with WOTR is a great way to meet other writers while helping to further our worthy goals. From the Board of Directors to seasonal workshops and our writing competitions, WOTR relies on volunteers to make things happen. To all our volunteers, a hearty thank you!

Donate without spending your own dollars.

It's easy when you use Fred Meyer Community Rewards and AmazonSmile. When you buy from either of them, they'll donate a percentage of your purchase to WOTR.
