Submit your opening first line before the event, then join fellow attendees Friday evening to weigh in and vote on your favorites. The most popular "first lines" earn their authors a chance to read aloud and share a little about their story.
Delicious Cajun food and beverages will be available for purchase.
To submit your first line, please email info@writeontheriver.org with the subject line "Friday Night Writes 2026" no later than Wednesday, May 27. Submissions must be original work from any genre and the event is free and open to all registered conference attendees."
